Renato Borghetti may be unknown in this part of the world, but, in southern Brazil, "Borghettino," as his fans call him, is a superstar. The accordion-playing gaucho taps the full spectrum of Brazilian music - tango, polka, Tex-Mex, folk - sprinkles it with some European elements, and cuts loose with a unique contemporary sound that has earned him playing time with the likes of Stephane Grappelli and Ron Carter. The title of his most recent CD, Fandango!, says it all.
